ThirdSectorBee shows a message at the top of the page, or in place of the page, when something about your beehive’s subscription needs attention. This guide explains each one and what to do next. Your records are kept safe in every case.

Who can act on these messages

Only people with account:admin:team can set up billing or update payment details. If you don’t hold it, you’ll see the same message with Ask an administrator in your organisation to manage billing. in place of the button. Pass the message on to an administrator in your organisation.

Demo beehives never show trial or payment messages.

Your free trial ends in a number of days

Your free trial ends in 12 days.

Your beehive is on its free trial. The banner turns orange in the last seven days.

What to do: an administrator chooses Set up billing and completes subscription setup. Any trial days left are applied to your subscription, so there’s no benefit in waiting.

You’re all set

You’re all set! Your next billing date is 4 March 2027.

Billing is set up, either during the trial or on an active subscription. Nothing needs doing. Choose the close button to hide this banner; it stays hidden for this beehive in this browser.

Your free trial has ended

Your free trial has ended. Set up billing to continue using ThirdSectorBee.

When a trial ends without billing set up, a red banner appears and the page is replaced by Your free trial has ended. You can’t open records until billing is set up. Your data is safe.

What to do: an administrator chooses Set up billing. The billing setup and payment pages stay available while the rest of the app is closed. Once payment is confirmed, access returns.

Your account has an outstanding payment

Your account has an outstanding payment. Please update your payment details to avoid losing access.

A subscription payment hasn’t gone through, perhaps because a card expired. You can keep working for now, but access may be suspended if the payment stays unpaid.

What to do: an administrator chooses Update payment details. This opens the Stripe billing portal in a new tab, where you can change the payment method. You can also reach it from Settings → Billing.

Account suspended

Your account has been suspended due to an outstanding payment. Your data is safe — please resolve your billing to restore full access.

The outstanding payment wasn’t resolved, so the beehive is locked. The page is replaced by Account suspended and records can’t be opened. Your data is kept.

What to do: an administrator chooses Resolve billing, which opens the Stripe billing portal in the same tab. Update the payment details there. Access returns once the payment is confirmed.

Where to check your subscription status

Administrators can see the current status, plan, next payment date and billing details on Settings → Billing. See Set up and manage subscription billing.
