The Organisation tab holds details that belong to your whole organisation rather than to one beehive: where it’s legally based, its default currency, its official registration number and its email domain. These settings affect tax screens, tax reports and how colleagues join, so it’s worth checking them early.

Current access requirement

Loading and saving organisation details currently needs a ThirdSectorBee platform administrator. A beehive administrator can open the tab, but may not be able to load the details, see the beehives or save changes. If that’s you, ask your platform administrator to make the change.

For the home country, currency and email domain, the tab can show Saved even when the change was refused. Reload the tab and check the value before relying on it. The registration number shows an error if it isn’t saved.

Open organisation settings

Open the account menu, choose Settings, then the Organisation tab. Your organisation’s name is shown at the top. The tab has no name editor; ask your platform administrator to change it.

Set the home country and currency

The home country is your organisation’s legal jurisdiction: the country whose charity and tax law it operates under.

  1. Under Country & Currency, choose Home country (legal jurisdiction). You can type to search the list.
  2. Check Home currency. Choosing a country selects its usual currency, which you can change.
  3. Choose Save. The button is only available when you’ve changed something.

The currency is a default for new records. Changing it doesn’t convert existing payment amounts.

How your home country affects the Taxes module

Tax relief on donations is a national scheme, so the Taxes module only shows the screens for your home country:

Home country What your team sees under Taxes
United Kingdom Gift Aid, Declarations and Gift Aid claims
Denmark Tax-deductible gifts, including the gift report to SKAT
Italy Donation tax relief
Not set Gift Aid, as for the United Kingdom
Any other country Overview only, as there’s no scheme for that country yet

The home page’s Quick Actions follow the same rule. If someone opens a link to another country’s tax screens, they can’t use them.

Check this before your team starts collecting declarations or preparing tax reports. Changing country later hides the previous country’s tax screens; the records stay, but your team can’t reach them from the app while the country is different. See Collect a Gift Aid declaration or Report Danish gifts to SKAT.

Set the registration number

The registration number is your organisation’s official number with its national registry, for example its CVR number in Denmark. It’s used in tax reports, such as the gift report to the Danish Tax Agency.

  1. Under Registration number, enter the number.
  2. Choose Save.

The number can be up to 32 characters: letters, digits, spaces, dots, slashes or hyphens, starting with a letter or digit. For the Danish gift report it must be your 8-digit CVR number.

If you see The registration number could not be saved. Try again., the change wasn’t saved. Leave the field empty and save to remove the number.

Set the email domain

The email domain lets colleagues who sign up with a work email ask to join your organisation instead of creating a new one.

  1. Under Email Domain, enter the bare domain, for example yourcharity.org.uk. Don’t include @, an email address or www..
  2. Choose Save.

The value is trimmed and saved in lower case. The tab doesn’t check that you own the domain or that it’s spelled correctly, so check it carefully. Clearing the field removes the domain.

A matching domain doesn’t give anyone access by itself. Each request still needs approving: see Approve a domain access request.

See your beehives

The Instances table lists your organisation’s beehives with their Name, Beehive ID, Modules and Status. The one you’re in is marked (current). The table is for reference; it doesn’t create or change beehives. To move between them, use Switch to another beehive in the account menu.
