Recording who an appeal was aimed at, and keeping its to-do list in the same place, means anyone picking up the activity can see the plan without asking around. Use the activity’s Segments and Tasks tabs.

Before you start

  • To change an activity’s segments you need relationships:write:fundraisingactivities. The segments or stacks must already be saved; see Build and save a segment.
  • The Tasks tab only appears if you have tasks:read:tasks. To create a task you also need tasks:write:tasks. See the permission catalogue.

Set the target audience

  1. Open All Activities and select the activity.
  2. Open the Segments tab. Under Target audience you’ll see the segments and stacks already assigned, each with a Segment or Stack badge.
  3. In Type, choose Segment or Stack.
  4. In the next list, choose Select a segment or Select a stack and pick one. You can type to search. Anything already assigned isn’t offered again.
  5. Choose Add. The assignment is saved straight away.

To remove one, choose the bin icon beside it. It’s removed immediately, with no confirmation, but you can add it again.

Good to know:

  • The target audience is a record of intent. Assigning a segment doesn’t send anything to its members or change their records.
  • The name shown is the segment’s or stack’s name when you added it. If it’s renamed later, remove it and add it again to show the new name.
  • Actual responders are not listed on this tab. The people who responded are the ones whose payments are coded to the activity.

Add and follow tasks

  1. Open the Tasks tab. It lists tasks linked to the activity, with their Title, Due date and Status.
  2. To add one, choose New task. The new-task form opens with this activity already linked. Complete it as described in Manage tasks.
  3. Select any task in the list to open it.

If something goes wrong

  • “No segments available” or “No stacks available”: there’s nothing left to add. Either everything is assigned already or none have been saved yet.
  • “Failed to load tasks.”: reload the page. If it keeps happening, ask your administrator to check your Tasks permissions.
  • No Tasks tab: you don’t have tasks:read:tasks. Ask a beehive administrator.
