An event’s status tells your team where it stands, from an idea still being planned to something that has happened.
Before you start
You need events:read:events and events:write:events. Without the write permission, the Change status button doesn’t appear. See the permission catalogue.
The statuses
| Status | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Draft | You’re still planning. Every new event starts here |
| Published | The event is confirmed |
| Completed | The event has happened |
| Cancelled | The event won’t go ahead |
Change the status
- Open the event from Events → All Events.
- Choose Change status next to the event’s name.
- Choose Publish, Mark completed, Cancel event or Revert to draft. Only the statuses the event isn’t already in are listed.
You can also change the status with the Status field when you edit the event.
Cancel an event
Cancelling keeps the event and everything linked to it, and marks it as Cancelled.
- Choose Cancel event, either from Change status on the event or from the actions menu on its row in All Events.
- Choose Confirm, or Keep to leave it as it is.
You can undo this by changing the status again or editing the event.
Delete an event
Deleting permanently removes the event and can’t be undone. If you only want to show it isn’t going ahead, cancel it instead.
- On All Events, open the actions menu on the event’s row and choose Delete event.
- Read the warning, then choose Confirm.
If something goes wrong
If you see “Couldn’t change the event status”, “Couldn’t cancel the event” or “Couldn’t delete the event”, check your connection and try again. If it keeps happening, check with your administrator that you have events:write:events.
