Review a programme’s funding
The Funding tab brings together the restrictions on how a programme’s money can be spent and the items it still needs funding for. Use it before you approach a funder or allocate income, so you know what’s needed and on what terms.
Before you start
- You need
programmes:read:programmes. - Terms of restriction and funding needs are created and updated through the Programmes API or an integration. The app shows them but doesn’t currently have screens for adding or editing them. If they need changing, speak to whoever maintains your programme data.
Review the funding position
- Open All Programmes and select the programme.
- Choose the Funding tab.
- Read Terms of Restriction. The Type shows whether the money is Restricted or Designated, followed by the terms themselves. If nothing has been recorded you’ll see No terms of restriction set.
- Review Funding Needs. Each row shows:
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Title | What the money is needed for |
| Amount | How much is required, in the need’s currency |
| Status | unfunded, partially funded or fully funded |
| Priority | low, medium, high or critical |
Restricted or designated?
- Restricted funds come with conditions set by the donor or funder. They must be spent as agreed.
- Designated funds are unrestricted money your organisation has chosen to set aside for this purpose. Your trustees can change that decision.
If you’re unsure which applies, check with your finance team before committing the money elsewhere.
Reading an empty table
No funding needs recorded. means nobody has recorded any needs for this programme. It doesn’t mean the programme is fully funded.
Share needs with fundraisers
Fundraisers who don’t need full programme access can use the Fundraiser View, which lists programmes that are seeking funding or active, with their unfunded and partially funded needs.
